Isaac Baca scored five touchdowns and Muleshoe's stifling defense held Floydada to 195 yards total offense in the Mules' 46-14 road victory. The contest was the 2-2A District opener for both teams.

Muleshoe (6-0, 1-0) garnered its 21st consecutive victory overall and defeated a Floydada (1-5, 0-1) squad which had scored only 24 points in its previous five contests.

Baca accounted for all of his team's first half points on scoring runs of 47, 8, 62 and 25 yards as the Mules took a 27-0 halftime lead.

The rest of the game was dominated by Muleshoe's defense, which only allowed two late second-half scores and limited Floydada to 69 passing yards.

Baca only rushed seven times but tallied 220 yards, ripping off huge chunks of yardage through the Floydada defense.

Muleshoe wide receiver Ryan Deleon and running back Juan Sanchez accounted for the other scores.
